Letters to David Parish [manuscript], 1812-1842.

Collection includes seven letters from John Randolph of Roanoke to David Parish, dated 1812 June 13, 1812 June 18, 1815 January 15, 1815 January 23, 1815 September 18, 1815 October 30, and 1816 February 3. Also included is a letter from Randolph to John St. George Randolph; a lithograph facsimile of John Randolph's last words; a letter from C. Johnson to Henry St. George Tucker, Professor of law at the University of Virginia,1842 August 24; and a copy of an undated letter of Randolph to Tucker.

A Federalist, Woods served in the Virginia House of Delegates and was a member of the Virginia Convention of 1788. He briefly served in the Revolutionary War and later was an officer of the Virginia militia, attaining the rank of colonel before resigning in 1816.
